The North Yorkshire Moors National Park Centre at Danby, is just a short walk away, and there are plenty of other opportunities for walking, horse riding, cycling and driving about the area. You can even catch the Moors bus to more distant parts.
Whitby, with it's famous harbour, is only 20 minutes away. The Yorkshire coast towns of Scarborough, Filey, and Robin Hoods Bay, are all within easy reach. Inland, the historic cities of York and Durham, and the vibrant cities of Leeds and Newcastle are easily accessible.
